The cyclos-HTP Institute (CHI) is the leading institution in Europe for the assessment and optimisation of packaging with regard to its recyclability. In 2011, the first ever assessment standard was developed on the basis of primary practical and engineering expertise to evaluate the recyclability of packaging in a reliable and standard-compliant method. The engineering and practical expertise provides the basis for CHIRA. The software is a tool for differentiated assessment of recyclability and at the same time a multifunctional tool for ecological packaging optimisation. Further activities of CHI's include research, consulting and development on the design for recycling of packaging as well as workshops and advanced training on the fields of recyclability and packaging design.
