Standardisierung

DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V.

The German Institute for Standardization (DIN) is the independent platform for standardization in Germany and worldwide. As a non-profit association and private-sector project manager, DIN manages standardization processes to which more than 35,000 experts from industry and research, from the consumer side and from the public sector contribute their expertise. Market-driven norms and standards promote global trade and support rationalization, quality assurance, safety and understanding, and the protection of society and the environment.

With standardization activities, DIN contributes significantly to improved marketability and thus faster market transfer of innovative solutions. In addition, DIN enables public accessibility and, with its wide reach, supports the dissemination of results for further application of research findings within and outside Germany.
