Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen - Sustainable Packaging Institute (SPI)
The Sustainable Packaging Institute (SPI) is a specialized Institute at the Faculty of Life Science at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences. The SPI has a research focus on sustainable packaging concepts for the Life Science Industry. The SPI topic areas are 1. Biogenic Raw Materials, 2. Process Technology and Process Design, 3. Functional Materials, 4. Smart Packaging (Active and Intelligent Packaging), 5. Preservation and Packaging, and 6. Bioeconomy and Sustainability (Concepts, Assessment and Perception). With these thematic areas, SPI pursues its mission to provide competent and holistic support to all actors in the packaging industry along the entire value chain in the Life Science Industry on the way to a more sustainable, circular bioeconomy.
