Fraunhofer LBF

At the Fraunhofer LBF, around 400 employees, experts and specialists from various disciplines jointly apply their know-how to interdisciplinary project work and our R&D services. This is the result of the LBF scientists' good understanding of systems and value enhancement along the entire value chain, from the material and its processing to the realization of the final component and the complex system, all the way to qualification with regard to safety and reliability. All relevant competencies for the realization of sophisticated plastics applications are combined at a high level under the research division plastics. Starting with the fundamental scientific disciplines such as chemistry and physics, through materials science and materials technology in processing, to expertise in analytics, testing and modeling.
