The chair of Legal Informatics of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Sorge is part of the Institute of Legal Informatics of the Faculty of Law at Saarland University, associated with the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security and coopted with the faculty of mathematics and informatics. Legal practitioners and information scientists work in an interdisciplinary team. Research issues include the legal implications of increasingly digitized industrial processes. The group works extensively in several third-party-funded projects and, besides considering technical aspects, focuses on the law of digitization in its subproject.

In K3I-Cycling, the chair of Legal Informatics is responsible for legal research aspects. The team will, among others, address the question of whether personal data is processed in the cycle of processing lightweight packaging. Another point of interest will be the legally secure interaction of the different stakeholders.
