EAD stands for Eigenbetrieb für kommunale Aufgaben und Dienstleistungen.

We are a 100% municipal operation and, in addition to waste recycling, we take care of many more issues to relieve the burden on citizens and businesses in Darmstadt. For example, street cleaning, winter services, maintenance services, school bus operations, sewer operations and maintenance, maintenance of public toilets, street maintenance, interior cleaning of municipal buildings, housekeeping tasks and communal catering in municipal daycare centers and schools, a composting plant, a recycling yard, a hazardous waste collection point, participation in a company in the waste recycling sector (transfer station with a bulky waste sorting plant) and an independently operating administration with a purchasing, finance, IT and human resources department are all part of our integrated operation. The assignment of the Waldfrieden Crematorium and the Vivarium Zoo complete our range of tasks.
